Performing Hard Reset on Samsung ATIV Tab



Hard (Full) Reset:

Caution if you perform a full reset, your Samsung ATIV Tab returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM (Read Only Memory) including Contacts, Messages etc..
 
Note: Backup the files in \Windows, \Program files, \Program files(x86), \ProgramData, OEM Folder (ex) c:\samsung), \User\<user name>\AppData as these will not be kept. Use the Windows System Restore function instead of the Recovery program for models where the SSD is less than 64GB.
To recover and restore your Samsung ATIV Tab: 

  • Click the Charms Menu then Settings then Change PC Settings then General.
  • Depending on your preference click the Start Button for Refresh or Remove (See below for definitions)
  • Follow the instructions to complete the process. 

Refresh: If your PC does not work properly, you can restore your PC while keeping your media files such as your photo, video and music files, etc. as well as your personal documents. 

Remove: If you want to return your PC to the default settings, or start from scratch, you can reset your PC to the factory default.
